FAQ

Common questions

Do you charge for quotes?

No. Quotes are free and fixed in writing before any work starts, so the number you agree to is the number on the invoice.

Are you a registered electrician?

Yes — registered with the Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB) and Site Safe registered, with verified ID, address and NZBN. All prescribed electrical work is tested and certified, and you get a Certificate of Compliance for your records.

What size heat pump do I actually need?

It depends on the volume of the room, its insulation, how much glazing it has and which way it faces — not just floor area. Undersized units run flat out and cost more to run; oversized ones short-cycle and leave the room clammy. We measure the space and size the unit to it before we quote.

How much does a heat pump cost installed?

A bedroom high wall unit typically lands between $2,400 and $3,200 supplied and installed; a living-area unit between $3,300 and $4,600. Ducted systems are quoted per home from around $12,000. See the pricing section for the full range.

How long does an installation take?

A standard back-to-back high wall install is usually a single day. Longer pipe runs, multi-room systems and ducted installs take longer — we tell you the expected timeframe when we quote, not on the day.

Can I get a Warmer Kiwi Homes grant towards a heat pump?

Possibly. The EECA Warmer Kiwi Homes programme covers 90% of the cost of an approved heat pump in your main living area, capped at $3,450 including GST, for owner-occupiers of homes built before 2008 who hold a Community Services Card or SuperGold Combo Card, or live in a lower-income area. Grant installs have to be done by an EECA-approved provider, so check your eligibility with EECA on 0800 749 782 first.

Do you service heat pumps you didn't install?

Yes. Servicing, repairs, fault finding and preventive maintenance on existing systems of any brand are a big part of what we do.

How often should a heat pump be serviced?

Once a year for most homes. Regular servicing keeps running costs down, keeps the air clean and helps the unit last longer — and most manufacturers require it to keep the warranty valid.

Can you install an EV charger at home?

Yes — EV charger installation, including any switchboard or supply work needed to support it, tested and certified on completion.

Which areas do you cover?

Central Auckland, North Shore, Rodney and Waitākere — the suburb lists are further up the page. If you're just outside, call and ask.
